Wood & Grill was born from over 20 years of dedication to the craft of steak cooking.
Our founder, an Executive Chef with two decades of experience across fine dining, casual dining, and hotel kitchens, has spent most of his career working in leading steakhouses — opening and managing successful venues and refining techniques that focus on one thing above all else: consistency and quality of meat.
In recognition of his professional journey and commitment to excellence, he was selected as a Finalist in the Australian Professional Chef of the Year 2025. This milestone reflects years of discipline, patience, and passion behind the grill.
After years of building restaurants for others, the time came to create something personal.
Wood & Grill is his own vision — a chef-led, semi-fine dining steakhouse located in the heart of Melbourne CBD, offering a premium steakhouse experience at an accessible price point.
The name Wood & Grill embodies the essence of our restaurant.
